Introducing Our New 44,000 Pallet Cold Storage Facility Based in Easton, Grantham

We are proud to announce we are the new occupier of the cold storage facility based in Easton, Grantham. The facility, previously run by GXO, features a 44,000-pallet cold store at multiple temperature regimes with extensive added value services for the food sector.

There are many reasons for the acquisition, namely, the facility offers great potential and the positioning of the cold store, on the A1 between Grantham and Peterborough, is a prime location for food manufacturers and distributors. The move is very much in line with our core mission; to remove cost, risk and complexity from our partners’ supply chains.

As part of our wider objectives, we intend to invest into the facility just as we have done with all our other cold storage facilities within the Magnavale network. Through improvement to infrastructure and development of on-site services, we aim to revitalise the Easton facility and expand its current capabilities.

Phase 2 of the Easton Development Plan will see a brand new, fully automated cold store built on the same site, run entirely on renewables. The development, announced in 2021 has now broken ground and with 101,000 pallet spaces it promises a significant uplift in our network capacity. On completion of the new facility, the Magnavale Easton site will boast 145,000 pallet spaces making it the largest cold storage facility in the UK.
