Magnavale Chesterfield Expansion Continues to Take Shape

Our expansion project at Magnavale Chesterfield continues to make excellent progress!

The Chesterfield development, which broke ground in early 2023, represents a significant investment in growing our temperature-controlled storage capacity. Driven by increasing customer demand in the Chesterfield area, the expansion will add 25,000 pallet positions, boosting the site’s capacity to 69,000 pallet positions.

Throughout March and April, the team on site has worked incredibly hard to complete the cladding of the walls and roof as well as the main concrete slab. As we head into May, several key construction milestones are scheduled to be completed, including the installation of loading dock doors and with the concrete slab complete, we can begin the installation of the racking bases.

Our Chief Operating Officer, Amanda Cogan, commented:

Due to open later this year, the Chesterfield expansion project represents a major milestone in our commitment to meeting the needs of our customers and ensuring a reliable and efficient cold chain.

We aim to eliminate unnecessary cost, risk, and complexity from our customer’s cold chain. To do this, we develop sustainable temperature-controlled facilities in key areas of food production and distribution, close to major transport routes, as well as providing essential cold chain services, such as contract packing and blast freezing, to reduce wasted transport miles and touchpoints.
