Combating UK Food Insecurity Crisis with Fareshare & 2 Sister’s Food Group
We are incredibly proud to collaborate with our strategic valued partners 2 Sister’s Food Group and Fareshare, to help combat the continuing food insecurity crisis affecting UK households.
Ranjit Singh Boparan, the owner of the food company, 2 Sisters Food Group, has expressed his intention to increase the number of food donations, with help from the 2 Sister’s Thetford facility.
Working in partnership with the charity organisation Fareshare, as well as ourselves and other supply chain partners, the goal is to donate five million meals/servings of food annually through this initiative.
According to the latest Food Foundation tracker, 15% of UK households have experienced food insecurity in 2024, as the cost-of-living crisis continues to hit the pockets of low-income families. It is estimated this figure has doubled in the last three years.
When the opportunity arose to participate in this meaningful cause alongside our strategic partners, we knew we had to get involved. We are extremely proud to support such a worthwhile cause and strengthen communities across the UK.
